Ancient Irish name from the noun aine that
means "splendor, radiance, brilliance." Aine is connected with fruitfulness and
prosperity. The queen of the Munster fairies was called Aine as was one of the
wives of Fionn Mac Cool (read the legend). Aine
appears in folktales as "the best-hearted woman who ever lived – lucky in love
and in money." |

Anya
came to live with us at about
11 weeks of age. She was
the 10th puppy born from Cu
Fola's Bell Island litter. I heard stories from her
breeder on how "busy" Anya was, she started climbing baby gates at
about 5 weeks of age. Anya was always escaping and a very independent
little pup. So this is partly why I chose this name for her.
Unfortunately Anya has not quite lived up to her name. She has been the
easiest puppy I have ever had to train and raise. Anya has a wonderful
temperament and a personality plus! Most bloodhounds characteristics
are
untrue to her. Anya is very obedient and very eager to please. Training
her for the show ring took alot of work but she enjoyed it so much that
things came easy to her. She is a natural show off that loves the
showring and any attention she can get. She has great movement , and
stands like a statue. Here at home
she is the protector and the "angel" that rarely causes any trouble.
She has many great physical qualities although she is not perfect, she
is still very promising. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful
girl, with each day that passes we form a stronger bond and I just love
her. Anya finished her Canadian Championship at 15 months of age with 4
group placements; two group 2's and two group 3's, for a
total of 16 points!!! Anya Gave birth to 10 beautiful babies June
10th 2009 from 20 year old semen. You can see the details on our past
litter page. Anya gave us Esme to go forward with,
therefore Anya is retired from the whelping box. We would like to spay
her but still may have some plans on showing her here and there because
she loves it so much.
